Our goal is to provide access to healthy food in every community by alleviating poverty through direct health and human services, programs and education to promote self-sufficiency for a strong quality of life.
– Crescent Food Bank (CFB) was inspired by a group of local community members with a shared mission to eliminate hunger by providing all underserved communities with healthy nutritious food and vital essentials for a better quality of life. Crescent Food Bank was founded on the premise of giving back to the community by delivering healthy nutritious food to the table of every home.
– Crescent Food Bank (CFB) provides healthy food, nutritional programs and educational resources through the support of generous donors, grants, fundraising events, sponsorship opportunities, food drives, food rescue, community partnerships and government food assistance programs.
– Crescent Food Bank (CFB) works in partnership with manufacturers, community grocers, restaurants, nonprofit and religious organizations throughout Southern California to collect healthy food donations. Crescent Food Bank (CFB) also has several food barrels at various religious organizations and school sites for canned and non-perishable food donations.
– Crescent Food Bank (CFB) has secured, packaged and distributed over 100,000lbs. of healthy food to various food pantries throughout Southern California.
– Crescent Food Bank (CFB) has opened 5 food pantries for non-profit organizations and inner-city schools throughout Southern California such as Islah LA, Sahaba Initiative, and Sabil USA who continue to provide healthy food to low-income individuals and families throughout our communities. Crescent Food Bank (CFB) is now expanding services to include nutritional and recreational classes for youth and adults.
